Youth Novice Judo - Ages 15 Years and Under, White to Yellow/Orange Belts

The White to Yellow/Orange Belt program has been developed for children 6 to 15 years of age. The classes are held three times a week and cover three categories in the Long Term Development Models (LTAD) as follows:
  • Active Start - Focuses on daily, physical activity in unstructured and semi-structured environments emphasizing basic movement skills.
  • Fundamentals - Focuses on the ABC's of athleticism in a fun, participatory environment. Basic movement skills and general development leading to physical literacy.
  • Learning to Train - Begins integration of physical, emotional, cognitive and effective development; emphasis on skill development.
Our goal is to develop a life-long learning approach to Judo by providing a fun but challenging environment and teaching the fundamentals of Judo while getting fit. Our main objective is to develop life skills incorporating the philosophy of judo by developing the following:

  • Self-Respect
  • Respect to Others
  • Discipline
  • Focus
  • Sportsmanship
